RAM Promaster 2500 High Roof

story:

Steve and Sharon are recently retired after working in New Mexico for the last 20+ years. Steve worked as an inspector for the Pueblos, and Sharon was a CNP specializing in family planning and infectious disease services.

Sharon would often visit her Navaho patients and friends in their cedar-lined traditional homes called “Hogans”. They would cook fry bread, drink coffee, and tell stories amidst an “ink black sky filled with stars” while sitting on beautiful handmade Navaho blankets. It’s one of Sharon’s most precious memories.

The Hogans were the inspiration for Sharon and Steve, and Boho’s red cedar style naturally made sense for their project.

Shash is a custom design which involved building the kitchen area along the slider door. The kitchen contains a large stainless sink and faucet, a 2-burner propane cook station, and an extendable countertop for extra prep space. A 3-tiered pantry separates kitchen from bed, and it neatly slides into the wall when not in use.

The sofa area seats two people comfortably, and can be used as a work station or dining area with a detachable lagun swivel table. This table also can be used up front with the captain’s chairs, as they both swivel for extra flexibility.

Dometic appliances were used for the rooftop AC, stand up stainless fridge, and the portable toilet. Victron components were used to run the battery system, including a 3,000w Multiplus, an Orion DC/DC charger and a SmartSolar controller. Various 110 outlets were installed in the van for the clients to “plug and play” whatever they need on the road.

Shash means “bear” in Navaho, and bear’s also have ties to strength, and strong medicine. Part of a special Navaho blessing shared in prayer is to “walk in beauty” - which Sharon and Steve plan on doing in their Boho van.
