Teresa reached out to us excited, but overwhelmed. She had been researching van builders across the country and wasn’t sure what was necessary for her needs. We shared with her our process, layout and available add-ons - and were able to come up with the perfect dream van for her!

Teresa and her daughter decided to make the drive from California over to Arizona to drop off their “Amy” for us to build the dream. The six hour drive in an empty van was no sweat for Teresa, and we promised her the ride back would be a completely different experience.

Amy was built with Teresa’s vision of having a “tiny home on wheels”. She chose a white ceiling, stained red cedar wood, and biscotti beige curtains. Her choice of patterns blended well, landing on custom patterned upholstery and a LOUD boho duvet cover. She completed the look with a classic subway tile backsplash.

The van is equipped with 400W of solar and 315ah of house battery bank. Amy can charge off grid by the combination of solar power and a Victron DC-DC isolator. A Victron Multiplus 2000W Inverter powers 110 outlets throughout the van, and the ability to plug into shore power.

Hot showers are 100% happening in Amy! We installed a 2.6 gallon electric hot water heater for her outdoor shower which is fed by 25 gallons of fresh water. The fresh water also feeds to her stainless steel sink.

Amy has just enough windows to provide great natural light, and a 12’ Fiamma roof awning (not pictured) was installed to provide shade outside.

Teresa showed up to drive her Amy back to Cali with a group of her ‘Zonie friends who have always supported her. Initially they questioned this “van idea” but gave Teresa the stamp of approval when they saw the final project.

Amy drove out of Tempe, back to California, with the intention to surprise a friend with an overnight camping trip. Her first night in the van was a success and she can’t wait for her next adventure.
