RAM Promaster 2500 High Roof 159”

story:

Wes is based in Houston and his three sons are about to either begin or finish college. With a growing amount of free time taking hold, Jesse started searching for the best RV model to access trailheads for camping, backpacking and trail runs.

COVID opened his eyes to the ability to take extended trips while working on the road, and a camper van was the perfect vehicle to visit family and friends around the country as well as destination trips to enjoy the outdoors.

Wes considered building his own conversion, but found Boho which had the exact layout he had already determined was best for his needs, and in his words, “look far better than I could have accomplished.”

Jesse was built on a RAM Promaster High Roof 2500 and boasts a large lithium ion battery bank powered via 400W of rooftop solar. Victron components include a 3000W Multiplus inverter (with shore power) and an Orion DC-DC charging system.

Up top we installed a Rooftop AC unit that can function as a heat system as well. Other upgrades include a convertible sofa bed (for family trips), an electric hot water heater, interior divider half wall with storage cubbies and custom window installation.

The finishes were chosen by Wes and include classic subway tile, a dark oak vinyl floor and custom ocean fabric cushions.

Wes picked up his van months ago, and last we heard, he’s still on the road visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. He will ultimately land back in Houston. He’s certainly covering a lot of ground early!

Wes has a long list of destinations he plans to see, but his next trip will consist of visiting his kids in college, as well as family and friends up and down the east coast.
