RAM Promaster 2500 High Roof 159”

story:

David and Kristin have a long history of traveling the world both separately and together. Dave was in the peace corps in Namibia Africa and Kristin volunteered in Nepal before meeting. When they met at 'Rendezvous', a local bar in Flagstaff, AZ, the connection and desire of travel was one of the things that united them.

Together, they’ve surfed the waves in Zihuantanejo Mexico, backpacked the Andes in Peru, and enjoyed the wilderness by backpacking the Weminuche, the Grand Canyon and the waterfalls of Havasupai.

In 2016, Their son Dash was born and they instantly knew they wanted to share their love of travel and the outdoors with him. When the pandemic hit, their perspectives and life desires began to shift. The idea of traveling domestically in a fully built out van to explore National Parks, more of the Southwest and to have nature at their fingertips became the goal.

Rendezvous was named as an ode to where things began (Flagstaff) and new adventures!

Built on a Ram 159” with Granite Crystal factory paint, the conversion started with the install of both a bed window and full pane slider door window (both with screens!).

Since it’s a family of three, we installed a removable 3rd seat with quick release rails and upgraded the sofa area to a convertible sofa bed.

An interior half wall was added between the bed and living area to both add extra cubbie storage as well as create privacy for those late night toilet trips.

Speaking of toilets, we upgraded from a cassette to a composting toilet - a better solution for their little guy.

Since Flagstaff is known for it’s great skiing and snowy weather, a hot water heater was installed to have hot outdoor showers in any condition or temperature.

This was a fun build as Kristin and her family were able to witness the process along the way on various trips from Flagstaff to Tempe.

Once finished, the true test was the decision maker in the household, their 5-year-old Dash, and he gave the final stamp of approval.
